How we got here...

Somewhere during the summer of 2022, Tim had the idea to revive one of his old loves, making music, something he started with when he was in his early teens. Back then, it was all for fun and only electronic music. Harley, who is a colleague of Tim and played electric guitar for over 10 years was asked to come aboard and start the project with him. They share the same musical taste and the same love for the heavier genres, apart from the electronic stuff that Tim loves and made in his earlier days. And just like that, the band started off with Tim and Harley being the only members, where Harley primarely plays rhythm and lead guitar. Tim, who has a love for computer, is the programmer of the drums and all other electronic stuff, plays the bass and sings. Lyrics and the overall sound of the band are created by the both of them.

Although they make their music as they like it themselves, if you also like it, let them know.

A short introduction...

Who is Tim?

From the age of twelve, I fell in love with 2 things: computers and music. All this in the age of MTV, hard rock, heavy metal and when grunge had its breakthrough.
Some of my musical influences are therefore found in bands like Nirvana, Metallica and later on Rammstein and Linkin Park. But my musical taste is not limited to these genres, as I also for example love electronic music, ranging from bands like Front 242 and Depeche Mode to even hardcore like Thunderdome.

I always describe the music I love as music that "crumbles the lime from the ceiling and cracks up the walls when cranked up".
I started making (electronic) music in the age of DigiStudio, Music Maker and later on Fruity Loops, just for the fun of programming stuff.
In those years, I also got my first confrontations with suicides in my direct environment (from idols and

acquaintances over friends and even family), which sadly hasn't stopped ever since. This played a big part in wanting to restart making music, because I wanted to translate my feelings surrounding those events into music.
A second big part in starting Teutonium, was meeting Harley in my working environment. We started out as colleagues and ended up being the best of friends.
My vision on our work exists of original songs and covers of bands which inspired us with songs that speak to us. But starting off, releases will be restricted to our own creations and material.

Who is Harley?

Always having had the joy of music for every type of mood and a wide variety of music taste, I started trying to play music myself. At the age of sixteen, I got my first guitar and started experimenting with it, alongside Metallica and Guns ‘n Roses’ music. I learned how to play the guitar by learning guitar tabs, learning certain techniques and steadily improving the way I played on my own. The first song I tried learning was Master of Puppets by Metallica.

Shortly after, I became addicted to YouTube videos of guitar covers where you could see the people playing and at the age of 18 I started my own YouTube channel Harley Wilbers and recording myself playing guitar covers of many bands I liked, like Metallica, Guns ‘n Roses, Bon Jovi, AC/DC, Asking Alexandria, Memphis May Fire, Arch Enemy, Linkin Park, etc… .

10 years later, in 2022, I got approached by a colleague who was also very interested in making music, asking me to form a band with him as his guitarist after seeing what I have been doing on YouTube, and thus Tim De Bondt and I started forming our band Teutonium. We started experimenting on different sounds and lyrics (none of which were bound to a specific genre), as well as making our own home studio where we could brainstorm and practice.
